SAVONNERIE MARIUS FABRE

10 000 .
Information

Have you ever wondered why your soap is called “Savon de Marseille” (Marseilles soap)?
To find out, we invite you for a tour of our workshops where we have been making this daily essential since 1900.
The visit starts at the factory’s wharf where the Marius Fabre adventure first started. We then enter the cauldron room where the 5 old cauldrons are still used to make our soaps.

Come and discover our 20 tonne cauldron in which we “cook” our olive oil soap according to a procedure inherited from our predecessors: the Marseille procedure.

Next we head for the drying room and the room where the soap is cut up and stamped, where you can admire the right-angled cutting machine slicing the blocks of soap into bars and small cubes.

From what goes into Marseilles soap to its beneficial properties, you will know all there is to know about how it is made! An interactive tour in the heart of a traditional factory which will delight young and old!
