Heir to the transport companies which existed at the start of the century, the RATP, founded in 1949, has over 100 years of history behind it. Its entire collection of rolling stock, used in Ile-de-France since the dawn of public transport, is kept in a former shunting yard, typical of the start of the 20th century.
Over a century of history is represented here: from the use of the first double-decker buses to the first electric trains on the Sceaux Line, not forgetting the first wooden Métro trains, the Sprague or the iconic cars of the North-South line.
We invite you for a guided tour of the site, during which you will be able to climb onboard some of the vehicles, in particular the magnificent Z engine from the Sceaux line. The aim of the tour is to appreciate and understand the changing design, the industrial developments and over a century of technological progress through the presentation of around thirty of the one hundred or so vehicles and trains kept here, all emblematic of their era.
