La Scourtinerie, founded in 1852 by Ferdinand Fert, makes “scourtins”, filters used to extract olive oil and traditionally made from coconut fibre. In the workshop, against the backdrop of the incessant rattle of the machines of yesteryear (weaving and drawing machines), we will present the history of the “scourtin” and the scourtin factory and you will be able to watch all the stages in making a “scourtin”.
Since July 2013, you can also discover the scourtin museum (free entry).
